Coronavirus Guide Parents
14th September 2020
Dear Parents/Carers,
Information regarding COVID-19
As you will be aware, cases on the Wirral of COVID- 19 are increasing rapidly. It is really important that we all work together to try and reduce the risk of transmission.
Wirral Borough Council have produced a poster for parents to try and support you in understanding the different guidelines in relation to COVID. The poster is attached to this email.
It is really important that if your child is displaying any of the symptoms of COVID that they remain at home with their siblings and the child who is displaying symptoms gets tested. Once the child has received their negative result they can return to school. Please ensure that you contact school to inform us of of the negative test result.
The symptoms are: A high temperature; a new continuous cough; or the loss or change of their sense of taste or smell.
If your child is off school because they are isolating due to COVID-19, the teachers will aim to set them work via Google Classroom as soon as they can.
Therefore, please can I encourage all parents to ensure that you have activated your child's Google Classroom account. If you do not have the details for this, please contact Mrs Longworth in the school office and she will be able to provide you with the details.
If we have to close a bubble due to a confirmed case of COVID-19, this will mean that your child will have been identified as a 'close contact' of someone with coronavirus. In this situation, your child will not be allowed to come to school and they will need to remain at home for 14 days. Work will also be set via Google Classroom for your child to access at home if a whole class/bubble has to self-isolate.
Please can I also remind parents that from today (Monday 14th September), we all must avoid social gatherings of more than 6 people inside and outside of our home.
I appreciate this is a very difficult situation for everyone. My priority is the health and safety of all my children and staff. It is vital that everyone plays their part in trying to reduce the transmission of the virus. Many thanks to all the parents who are already demonstrating that they are following the guidelines.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding and patience.
Kind regards,
Mrs McAleny
