Thank you!
12th February 2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
Well I had composed this email before and had scheduled to send it at 3:30pm today but then following assembly today, I just had to add this little bit as well to say:
Thank you so much to all our parents for organising and coordinating the thank you messages displayed in our two celebration assemblies this afternoon! It was incredibly touching and quite overwhelming (if I am honest)! All the staff are incredibly grateful for your support and this was just such a beautiful way for our parental community to share their thanks to all the staff at school. I say this all the time, but I really do consider myself so lucky to be the Headteacher at Gayton and work with such amazing staff, incredible children and supportive parents and governors.
Anyway, below is the first message I had composed before assembly today!
I just wanted to write to say thank you so much for all your support, patience and understanding over the last half term. This really has been an exceptionally challenging half term for everyone, but together we have got through it!
Our children, whether in home or school, have been fantastic and incredibly resilient in order to continue with their learning despite the challenges they have faced. We are incredibly proud of them all and thankful to you as parents for your support. What has been achieved, with our remote learning, is only possible due to the amazing support from our parental community.
Finally, I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Gayton. They have been incredible at adapting so quickly to completely different ways of working in such a short space of time. Their passion and desire to try and continue with learning (wherever the children are) has been very impressive and I am so thankful to them all for their hard work, commitment and dedication to the school.
We are very hopeful that all children will be returning to school on Monday 8th March 2021. As much as we have embraced remote learning, we genuinely can not wait to welcome all our children back to school.
Stay safe and thank you, yet again, for your continued support,
Kind regards,
Mrs McAleny
